School Chali Mein
“SCHOOL CHALI MAIN” is the Hindi version of the sentence which says, “I am going to School”. The sentence signifies the happiness which Vimla Salvi, age 27, from Rupakhedi Village in Chittorgarh District of Rajasthan. The intervention of second-chance education brought a change in the life of Vimla who got married when she was studying in 8th standard and unfortunately couldn’t continue with her education. She lives in a joint family setup and lives with her husband, parents in law. Her husband is a truck driver and her parents in law owing to their age issues are confined to activities like agriculture. The intervention by Manjari Foundation in the month of September acted like a navigator for Vimla who got motivated after counselling and interactions. Aspiring Vimla got her name enrolled under NIOS for 10th Standard Exam and that’s how her student life began. She is now regularly attending classes held at the hub and is very keen to learn new concepts. “I have plans to pursue education and derive government job. I express my profound gratitude to Second Chance Education Program”.
